Venezuela’s parliament approves agreement to break relations with Spain

09.10.2024, Moscow.

The decision to sever diplomatic, trade and consular relations with Spain has been approved by Venezuelan MPs, TeleSUR reported on October 8.

Neither the Spanish government, nor the Spanish courts, nor the European Union should interfere in Venezuela’s internal affairs,” said Venezuelan Parliament Speaker Jorge Rodriguez. He said Venezuela has been patient, but patience has its limit.

The Venezuelan official promised to provide details of the government’s arrangements with former opposition presidential candidate Edmundo Gonzalez, who left for Spain, calling him a coward for breaking his word. He emphasized that if the departed Gonzalez was under pressure, it was with the participation of the Spanish ambassador.
