Russian Armed Forces liberated the village of Zhelannoye Vtoroye in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the Russian Ministry of Defense said on October 5 in an update on the special military operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine.
Ukrainian armed units were driven out of Zhelannoye Vtoroye by the soldiers of the Russian Group of Forces Yug.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, over the past 24 hours, the Group of Forces Yug repelled three counterattacks from the 59th Motorized Infantry Brigade, the 81st Airmobile Brigade, and the 112th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Ukrainian armed units. Additionally, units of this group inflicted fire damage on the 23rd, 54th, and 93rd Mechanized Brigades, the 56th Motorized Infantry Brigade, the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian armed units, and the 18th Brigade of the Ukrainian Nationalist Guard near the villages of Reznikovka, Zvanovka, Belaya Gora, and Maksimilyanovka.
Last week, from September 28 to October 4, Russian Armed Forces completed the liberation of the city of Ugledar, the village of Nelepovka, and the villages of Krutoy Yar and Verkhnekamenskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, as well as the villages of Makeevka in the Lugansk People’s Republic and Vishnevoye in Kharkov Region.
