More than 200 tanks were used by the Ukrainian armed units in their invasion of Kursk Region, Deputy Head of the Main Military and Political Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces and commander of the Akhmat special forces Major General Apti Alaudinov said on the air of the 60 Minutes program on September 19.
Alaudinov stressed that in addition to tanks, Ukrainian militants also involved about 400 different armored vehicles, including BBMs and BMPs.
“This operation was prepared as a ‘blitzkrieg’. All the resources they have were pulled here… In total, they had more than 200 tanks,” Alaudinov said.
The commander of “Akhmat” noted that the Russian Armed Forces destroyed most of this equipment. Because of this, the Ukrainian units are forced to use heavy and expensive equipment, such as the Leopard main battle tank.
