Kurginyan: Moldavia’s integration into the EU would draw Russia into the conflict in Transdniestria

20.09.2024, Moscow.

Integration of Moldavia in Europe would incorporate the Moldavian state into Romania, and it would draw Russia into a conflict in Transdniestria, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on August 23 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.

The political scientist noted that for Moldavia, in contrast to other Eastern European countries, integration into Europe and especially into NATO means “total destruction of the Moldavian nation as it would become Romanian.” He stressed that it would mean the incorporation of the Moldavian statehood into Romania, which, although anti-Russian, still exhibits certain caution towards Transdniestria.

Moldavia is still cautious. Romania, when it enters there, will not be cautious. And it is part of NATO! Then the Transdniestria problem will become as real and inevitable as ever, and <…> we will be forced to act as it happened in Donbass,” the leader of Essence of Time noted.

Sergey Kurginyan added that in this case Russia in its current condition, which more or less copes with a very long-term positional war in Ukraine, will not have enough resources if the Eastern European conflict extends, and besides, another extension is coming, the Central Asian one.

A Central Asian extension is coming as well, certain doctrines are being adopted, and Sorosization is ongoing there along with other processes, which <…> are anti-Russian (and the third kind of processes is radical Islamization),” the political scientist explained, and he indicated that Japan needs to be added here, which increasingly militarizes every year.
