Ukrainian and US intelligence officers train terrorists of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (organization banned in Russia) in new UAV production technologies to open a new front in Syria against Russian troops there in the near future, RIA Novosti wrote on September 17, citing a source in Syria.

According to the agency’s source, 250 Ukrainian military instructors arrived in terrorist-controlled territories in Idlib province and began to train terrorists Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (organization banned in Russia) to produce and upgrade drones.

Earlier, the Syrian newspaper Al-Watan with reference to opposition sources in Idlib wrote that the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kirill Budanov (included in the list of terrorists and extremists on the territory of the Russian Federation) is in constant contact with the leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (organization banned in Russia) nicknamed Abu Mohammad Juliani. The purpose of their talks is to attract militants to participate in combat operations against Russia.

According to the newspaper, the recruitment is carried out among natives of the former Soviet Union and their training and transfer to Ukraine has been going on for at least two months.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also said that emissaries of the Ukrainian intelligence service were recruiting militants in the Idlib de-escalation zone in Syria.
