Support for Colombian President Gustavo Petro, who has said a coup d’état is imminent, was expressed by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on September 14 in social network X.
“All our solidarity and support to Colombian President Gustavo Petro in the face of actions aimed at removing him from office through a coup d’état,” the Cuban diplomatic chief wrote.
It is reported that Colombia’s national council intends to launch an investigation and file charges against the head of state, as well as professionals associated with his election campaign.
Gustavo Petro is accused of illegal financing of the electoral process during the presidential election.
Earlier, the Colombian president warned on his social network X page that the strike would be carried out not by soldiers but by officials.
