Three fighter jets of the Ukrainian Air Force were shot down in the special operation zone in Ukraine by Russian pilots and air defense fighters, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry said on September 15.
“The Russian Air Force shot down two Su-27 fighter jets of the Ukrainian air forces overnight. Air defense means shot down a MiG-29 fighter jet of the Ukrainian air forces,” the statement said.
In addition, Russian air defense equipment intercepted an American HIMARS rocket, four French Hammer guided aerial bombs and 55 drones, 22 of which were outside the Special Operations Zone.
In total, Russian forces have shot down 645 Ukrainian warplanes, 283 helicopters and 31,609 UAVs since the start of the special operation.
