Canada announces supply of more than 80,000 air-to-ground missiles to Ukraine

Canada will deliver 80,840 decommissioned CRV-7 air-to-ground missile engines and 1,300 warheads to Ukraine, Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair said at the Ramstein base, where the 24th meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense is being held, the Canadian government’s press service reported on September 6.

According to the press service, the engines are being prepared for shipment and will arrive in Poland in the coming months.

The minister also promised to transfer 970 C6 machine guns and 10,500 9 mm pistols to Kiev. In addition, it was announced that Canada will donate 29 decommissioned M113 chassis and 64 more Coyote LAV chassis. It is emphasized that these vehicles are no longer in use in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Minister also reported on other supplies and assistance. Thus, the first armored vehicles transferred by Canada have arrived in Europe, Ukrainian servicemen are being trained to drive them. Deliveries of Teledyne FLIR Skyranger drones are to begin in September.

In August, $200,000 worth of equipment was delivered to Ukraine.

In total, Canada has transferred aid to Ukraine worth C$4.5 billion. Among the military equipment supplied by Canada to Ukraine were Leopard 2 tanks.
