Gorizont JSC in Rostov-on-Don will launch the production of unmanned helicopters, the press service of Rostov Region’s administration reported on 28 August.
In the first stage, investments in the project will amount to $5.5 million. The launch of production is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025.
“According to the information of the Investment Development Agency of the Rostov region, accompanying this import-substituting project, it can be implemented in cooperation with Belarusian and Don companies,” the statement reads.
As explained by Dmitry Grigoryev, Gorizont’s CEO, agreements have already been reached with Minsk-based KB Bezpilotnyye Vertolyoty. This enterprise is one of the world leaders in the production of unmanned helicopters.
In addition, it is planned to involve several specialized companies in the project, including computer equipment manufacturer Beshtau and research and production company Elmika.
