A Ukrainian pilot trained on the F-16 in the United States was killed in the course of Russia’s special military operation, the Ukrainian news platform Strana ua wrote on August 28, referring to the City Council of Lutsk.
“Lieutenant Colonel Mes died on August 26 during a combat mission. Other details are not reported. Earlier, the press service of the 144th Fighter Wing of the California Air National Guard of the US Air Force reported that Mes was trained on F-16 in the United States,” the message reads.
A native of Lutsk, Aleksey S. Mes, born October 20, 1993, served under contract as a squadron support commander – deputy commander of the operations group.
Earlier, information on the elimination of Mes appeared on the Telegram channel of Russian military correspondent Yevgeniy Poddubny. The statement claims that the Ukrainian pilot was killed in a Russian strike on an airfield in Ivano-Frankovsk.
