29.08.2024, Moscow.

The Rassvet-1 and Rassvet-2 missions of Russian satellite developer Buro 1440 confirmed the operability of satellite Internet technology, said Ksenia Lazarenko, director of laser terminal development at Buro 1440, in an interview with RIA Novosti on August 29.

Six spacecraft from both missions are now in orbit. “Rassvet-1” confirmed the company’s competencies in creating satellites for low orbit, control systems and flight qualification of the first key components of the system, the second mission confirmed flight qualification of the payload.

Now, the company is working on the transition to serial production – a constellation of 292 satellites will be needed to ensure satellite communications.

Once launched, the service is expected to achieve speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second per subscriber terminal.
