Kurginyan: Venezuela would have drowned in blood if González won

29.08.2024, Moscow.

The opposition candidate at the elections in Venezuela, Edmundo González, is not a “humanitarian gentleman” but an experienced security services official with blood on his hands, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on August 9 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.

The political scientist explained that the fact that González received 43% of the votes indicates that Venezuela is split. And it is very important what this split implies.

Kurginyan urges to take a closer look at what Edmundo González is. He is not young, he is in his seventies. He makes an impression of quite a respectful rightist pro-American politician who would have improved relations with the USA if he had come to power.

In fact, González is an extremely experienced security services official with blood on his hands, in El Slavador and elsewhere. It is death squards, it is preparation of bloody coups, it is a kind of internal blatant cruelty. And it is interesting how an image is formed in the context of his real biography and in the context of where and when he showed or smirched himself,” the political scientist said.

According to Sergey Kurginyan, what is taking place in Venezuela is “not a situation when a leftist bandit who persecutes everyone faces a humanitarian gentleman who wants everything to go in peace and friendship with the United States of America.”

Tolerance and González are incompatible. If he comes to power they will spout blood in a way that Maduro will seem to be the most democratic and pro-Western politician one can ever imagine,” Sergey Kurginyan said.
