29.08.2024, Tehran.

Good relations with Iran were re-established under Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, as it was during his two previous terms, Brazil’s special envoy to Tehran Eduardo Ricardo Gradilone Neto said, Mehr news agency reported on August 29.

Gradilone Neto discussed the current state of relations between Brazil and Iran. He also outlined plans to develop cooperation between the countries.

The diplomat recalled that Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian recently held a meeting. Future Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also attended it.

“In early September, we will celebrate our National Day and we hope to have government representatives, both former and current, present to further strengthen our already very good relations,” Gradilone Neto said. He said it is planned that Iranian children will sing the anthem.

“We will soon have an attaché of agriculture working with us at the Brazilian Embassy,” the diplomat added. He said he would help solve sanitary problems hindering trade.

Gradilone Neto also touched on the situation in the Gaza Strip. He noted that while Israel and Brazil have close contacts, “we express our outrage at the actions of the current Israeli government on all international platforms.”
