The Russian Armed Forces made progress in the Krasnoarmeysk area, Pentagon spokesman Air Force Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder said August 26, the US Defense Department’s press office said on its official website.
“You know, it’s definitely something that we’re keeping a close eye on. You’re seeing the Russians make incremental gains there,” Ryder said in response to a journalist’s question about how soon the Russian Armed Forces would reach Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk).
The Pentagon spokesman emphasized that the agency he represents would continue consultations with Kiev to “better understand their needs .”
On August 20, an adviser to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Igor Kimakovsky said, “In Pokrovsk, the evacuation of archives and bodies of the state, let us say pseudo-state, authorities in Ukraine is underway.”
On August 23, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian troops had liberated the settlements of Sviridonovka, Artemovo, Novgorodskoye, Zhelannoye and Mezhevoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic during the week.
On August 27, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky called the military operations in the Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) direction the most difficult for the Kiev regime’s troops.
