Local resident: Ukrainian militants executed civilians in Kursk Region

26.08.2024, Moscow.

Ukrainian militants and a foreign mercenary shot civilians in the Sudzha district of Kursk Region, said local resident Nelli, who fled from the invaders, as reported by RIA Novosti on August 26.

According to the refugee, about a dozen people remained in their village. Nelli’s family managed to evacuate a few days earlier, while she hid in the basement of her house. Nearby was the house of a 25-year-old neighbor. It was to this house that three armed men with Ukrainian armed units insignia approached: two Ukrainians and one non-Russian-speaking mercenary.

“She called them fascists and said they were worse than the Nazis. The girl was shot — right in front of me and her younger sister. The younger sister was frightened and ran away; I don’t know what happened to her next,” Nelli said.

On the morning of August 6, the Ukrainian militants invaded the territory of Kursk Region, capturing several villages. Currently, Ukrainian armed units still control part of the territory of Russia in Kursk Region, and a counter-terrorism operation regime has been introduced in the neighboring Belgorod and Bryansk regions.
