The exchange of delegations in the technical and cultural sphere between Russia and Chile is being preserved and developed, Russian Ambassador to Chile Vladimir Belinsky said in an interview with TASS on August 25.
The ambassador recalled the long history of relations between Russia and Chile. In this regard, the current year is a jubilee year, as the end of the year will mark the 80th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The world is changing rapidly, but the potential for cooperation with Chile is constantly growing as the Asia-Pacific region is gaining more and more weight in political, economic, and cultural spheres and in terms of stability and well-being. And Chile is a leader in this region in many respects, the diplomat noted.
Against this background, Russia and Chile have substantial economic opportunities, and their economies can complement each other in many ways. There are serious prospects to increase cooperation in agriculture, science and technology, cultural and humanitarian and other areas, he emphasized.
“Therefore, our delegation exchange is preserved, it is constantly conducted at the expert-technical level, which allows us to successfully solve current issues. There are positive examples of contacts in the interregional format as well. Cultural exchanges are actively developing,” Belinsky said.
