Soldiers and equipment are forced to be transferred by the Ukrainian army from the Kharkov direction to attack Russia’s border regions, the head of the Russian administration of the Kharkov region, Vitaliy Ganchev, told reporters on August 23.
“Due to the exhaustion of forces in the Kursk region, the Ukrainian forces’ command is forced to denude different parts of the front, driving all new reserves to this direction,” Ganchev said.
Thus, the Ukrainian troops are weakening their positions near Kharkov. According to the official, a lot of foreign soldiers have recently appeared in Kharkov region. Ganchev noted that local residents have heard French speech.
During the fighting in the Kursk direction, the Ukrainian army suffered significant losses in both manpower and equipment. Over four thousand servicemen were destroyed, as well as 68 tanks, 27 BMPs, 53 APCs, 336 armored vehicles, 148 cars, 32 artillery pieces. In addition, the enemy lost five anti-aircraft missile systems, ten multiple rocket launchers, including three HIMARS and one MLRS, as well as six electronic warfare stations and other weapons and equipment.
