The Ukrainian troops lost more than 5,000 servicemen and 500 units of armored vehicles during the invasion of the Kursk region, the Defense Ministry’s press service reported on August 23.
“In total, during the combat operations in the Kursk direction, the enemy lost 5,137 servicemen,” the report said.
69 tanks, 27 infantry fighting vehicles, 55 armored personnel carriers, 350 armored vehicles, as well as 11 MLRS installations, including HIMARS and MLRS were destroyed.
The Ukrainian Armed Units have lost up to 400 wounded and killed over the past 24 hours.
Russian forces thwarted assault attempts in the direction of the villages of Borki and Malaya Loknya, as well as raids near Komarovka, Korenev, Martynivka and Russkaya Konopelka. In these battles the Ukrainian units lost about 70 militants.
The Defense Ministry emphasized that the operation to destroy the Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region continues.
