The Yemeni rebel movement Ansar Allah (Houthis) will continue their attacks on Israel regardless of the ceasefire in Gaza, said the group’s representative Hizham Asad on August 18 on his account on the social network X.
The group’s representative stated, “We welcome the agreement that will end the aggression and blockade of Gaza, allowing the release of prisoners from Israeli jails. But it will not affect Yemen, Lebanon, Iran, and Iraq’s actions against Israel.”
Hezbollah has promised to cease attacks on Israel if the Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip stop. Western media, citing their sources, have also repeatedly reported that Iran may refrain from retaliating against Israel (for the killing of Hamas Political Bureau head Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran) if Israel withdraws its military from the Gaza Strip.
