The Ukrainian command clearly underestimated the determination of the Russian troops to defend their positions to the end, said Major General Apti Alaudinov, commander of the Akhmat special forces and deputy head of the main military-political department of the Russian Defense Ministry, on August 14 during a broadcast on the Russia One TV channel.
