Russian defense industry prepared a surprise for F-16 fighters, stated the deputy commander of the Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment on August 11 on the Military Acceptance TV program.
Russian designers and engineers upgraded a missile, the name of which was not specified. The new ammunition has improved accuracy and enhanced characteristics for targeting highly maneuverable objects.
The military expert stated that as soon as Western aircraft appear in the skies over Ukraine, new air missiles will be used to counter them. The upgraded ammunition can effectively hit not only F-16s.
“We are not standing still; our industry is working. We already know there will be more surprises. Enemy aircraft will appear, and new countermeasures will also appear,” the military pilot said .
On August 5, Ukraine reported receiving the first batch of F-16 aircraft. A total of about 80 such aircraft are expected to be delivered over four years.
