Fire at Zaporozhye NPP caused by Ukraine’s attack is extinguished

The fire that broke out at the cooling tower of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) as a result of attack by the Ukrainian armed units was completely extinguished, Vladimir Rogov, Chairman of the Commission on Sovereignty, Patriotic Projects, and Veterans’ Support of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, wrote on August 12 on his Telegram channel.

Thanks to the prompt actions of the rescue services, more significant consequences were prevented.

Earlier, the head of Zaporozhyea Region Yevgeny Balitsky said that a fire at the ZNPP cooling systems facility was caused by the UAV attack on Energodar by Ukrainian militants.

All six power units of the ZNPP are in cold shutdown.
