BRICS is at the forefront of a multipolar world, and Caracas will be a “great addition” to the organisation, including through its oil reserves, Venezuela’s deputy vice-president to the UN, Joaquin Perez, told RIA Novosti on August 10.
Perez said, “We are convinced that the multipolar world has already taken shape. It is now becoming more sustainable, and BRICS plays a key role in this new world order… Venezuela seeks to contribute to the formation of this new world.”
He said Venezuela would be a “great addition” to BRICS also because of its significant oil reserves.
Earlier, President Nicolas Maduro said Caracas is ready to cooperate with BRICS countries on oil and gas fields, noting that Venezuela has “bet” on cooperation with the organization.
