Mali severs diplomatic relations with Ukraine due to support of terrorists

05.08.2024, Bamako.

Mali’s authorities decided to sever diplomatic relations with Ukraine, which supported terrorists, the portal aBamaco wrote on August 4.

The decision takes effect immediately. The reason was that Kiev supported separatists from the Tuareg tribe, who last month attacked a convoy of Malian government troops and their assisting Wagner PMC fighters.

“The government of the Republic of Mali was deeply surprised by the statement of the press secretary of Ukrainian military intelligence Andrey Yusov about Ukraine’s participation in the cowardly, treacherous, and barbaric attack by armed terrorist units,” the publication said.

It is noted that during the terrorist attack, Malian soldiers were killed. The attack also caused property damage to the republic. Ukraine was accused of violating Mali’s sovereignty and supporting terrorists.

The Malian authorities now fully support Russia’s position, which has been warning all countries of the world for several years about the “neo-Nazi and villainous nature of the Ukrainian regime,” the publication reported. Mali now officially considers Ukraine a country that openly supports international terrorism.

Wagner PMC reported that from July 22 to 27, along with Malian soldiers, they repelled an attack by militants in Mali near the city of Tinzaoutene, suffering losses. The commander of the assault squad was killed.
