The German government’s decision to deploy precision-guided US long-range missile systems is a deterrent to Russia, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said in an article for the German Bild on August 3.
High-precision, long-range U.S. missile weapons to be deployed in the FRG are a deterrent to Russia.
Such a deterrent, according to Baerbock, will prevent Russia from getting closer to Germany’s borders and will also protect its partners: the Poles, Finns and the Baltics.
Annalena Baerbok said that the Russian Federation had been preparing for a long time for the SMO in Ukraine and rejected all German peace initiatives.
“For years it first violated and then terminated disarmament treaties. It has developed prohibited weapons that can be equipped with nuclear weapons,” the German foreign minister said of Russia.
Annalena Berbock believes that it cannot rely on the principles of diplomacy in matters of security.
“Making foreign policy today means recognizing that the principle of hope will not protect us from Putin’s Russia,” – said the head of the German foreign Ministry.
Earlier, the German government, bypassing its own parliament, and the US administration announced the deployment of long-range precision missile weapons systems in Germany from 2026.
