The world has gone mad – Vucic comments on the scandal at Olympics

02.08.2024, Belgrade.

If men beat women and win medals, it means insanity has taken over the world, said Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on August 1 to journalists.

According to him, “everyone has gone mad.” Madness has begun to rule the world, noted the politician.

Thus, he commented on another scandal at the Olympic Games in Paris, which erupted after Algerian boxer Imane Khelif’s victory over Italian Angela Carini in a boxing match. The issue is that the Algerian boxer has predominantly male chromosomes. In 2023, this was an obstacle to his participation in the Women’s World Boxing Championship, but in 2024, it was not the problem.

Nevertheless, the International Olympic Committee, which approved Khelif’s candidacy, blamed the International Boxing Association (IBA) for the scandal, which in 2023 did not allow the boxer to compete. According to the IOC, this not only discriminated against the athlete but also created a biased attitude towards him among everyone.
