Russian President Vladimir Putin met the Russian citizens who returned after the prisoner exchange with the United States at the plane ramp on August 1, RIA Novosti informed.
Russian citizens released as a result of the prisoner exchange with the USA arrived by plane to Moscow. Putin personally met the arrivals.
“I want to address those who are directly related to military service – I want to thank you for your loyalty to your oath and duty,” Putin told the freed Russian citizens.
The negotiations with the United States resulted in an exchange of prisoners. The Americans released eight Russian citizens, while the Kremlin sent 15 people from Russian prisons to the United States.
