Russian liberals have long presented North Korea as a dying country terrifying all the humanity, while in fact it is a modern and rapidly developing state, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on June 29 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.
Kurginyan noted that he strongly welcomes the improvement of our relations with Vietnam and North Korea. However, the political scientist stressed, although these countries “have shown a sort of enthusiasm towards us,” we mush not forget the previous period of our history.
“What did our liberals say, who dominated not only in 1990s, about North Korea? That they eat grass there, and that they are a dying country, a lesson of horror for humanity,” the leader of Essence of Time said.
He noted that in fact North Korea is a rapidly developing powerful country with “a young consolidated population, with continuous growth in industry and agriculture, with a strong inner will to development, and serious.”
In this context, Sergey Kurginyan reminded about the words of Margaret Thatcher who after her visit to the Soviet Union called the USSR Upper Volta with nuclear weapons.
“This statement was not only an insult, it was the quintessence Thatcher’s idiocy. This was the moment when she showed that she was an idiot. An idiot pretending to be smart! Why? Because there cannot be any Upper Volta with nuclear weapons. We must understand this once and for all!” the political scientist explained.
Kurginyan refereed to speculations that Iran experiences difficulties in its nuclear program. According to the political scientist, those who say this mean that to this end Iran has to respectively improve all the rest of its infrastructure, because nuclear weapons are hard to create.
“An Upper Volta can never make nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons require too many other things: centrifuges, appropriately qualified personnel, and many, many other things. If North Korea has made it (and it has), it is not in a condition when there are crawling beasts eating grass. It cannot be like that! This is a modern, developing, major country,” the leader of Essence of Time concluded.
