Venezuelan authorities urge people to come out to manifestations

Venezuelan authorities propose to hold manifestations to defend peace in the country on Tuesday, President of the National Assembly of Venezuela Jorge Rodriguez wrote on social network X, RIA Novosti informed on July 30.

“We call on the people of Venezuela, starting Tuesday, to hold mass marches to celebrate victory and defend peace in the Republic,” Rodriguez wrote.

Venezuela’s presidential elections were held on July 28. The current leader of state, Nicolas Maduro, won the victory. The next day, protests began in Caracas, and clashes occurred between police and demonstrators.

The Venezuelan government claimed that a number of countries interfered in the elections and in the people’s right to freedom of expression.
