The Baltic Fleet’s corvette Soobrazitelny and the Chinese Navy’s destroyer Jiau Zou took part in a joint passing exercise, the Russian Defense Ministry’s Baltic Region Information Support Department in Kaliningrad wrote on July 29 on its official web-site.

The exercise took place at the naval training range of the Leningrad Naval Base of the Baltic Fleet. The crews, using radio-technical equipment, detected “mine barriers” installed by the alleged enemy and destroyed them with artillery fire.

The Chinese and Russian sailors also worked together on organizing search and rescue operations and rendering assistance to an alleged surface ship damaged during the battle. Assistance was provided in the form of search and rescue of personnel in the water. The servicemen lifted the “victims” aboard the ships and provided them with first aid.

Following parallel courses, the crews of the corvette and the destroyer practiced synchronizing their speed and maintaining an interval, taking into account the ships’ displacement and wind speed. Russian and Chinese sailors also performed tasks of transferring liquid and dry cargo on the move.
