24.07.2024, Idlib.

A group of militants was hit in the Syrian province of Idlib using a Russian Forpost-R attack drone. Captain First Rank Oleg Ignasyuk said this on July 23 during a briefing of the Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in the Syrian Arab Republic, the Internet portal Syria mil ru informed.

“Radical Islamist units operating in the Idlib de-escalation zone continue their attempts to attack facilities in the territory under the control of the Syrian authorities using unmanned aerial vehicles and multiple rocket launchers. To suppress such attempts, the Russian-made Forpost-R attack reconnaissance UAV was used on July 22 in Idlib province to strike at the location of Islamist armed units,” Ignasyuk said.

He also noted that the aviation of the so-called “international anti-terrorist coalition” led by the United States continues to carry out flights in violation of the Protocols of Deescalation, thus violating Syrian airspace. Three such violations were detected during the day.
