The assassination attempt on the founder of the ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, was prepared by the same forces that carried out attacks on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and former US President Donald Trump, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said at a briefing on July 24.
He recalled that there were two high-profile political terrorist attacks in recent months – in Slovakia and in the United States.
“This is a common style that characterizes the same global political forces,” the politician stressed.
Kobakhidze said that the preparation of a foiled terrorist attack in Georgia is also a cause for concern. The incident investigated by security services suggests that such an assassination attempt is possible in Georgia as well.
In May, an attack on the Prime Minister of Slovakia was committed. The politician was in hospital for several weeks. On July 13, an attack on Trump’s life was carried out. The bullet hit the ear of the politician.
