Yemen’s Shiite movement Ansar Allah (Houthis) claimed responsibility for the attack on the Israeli capital, Houthi spokesmen said on July 19, Reuters informed.
“The movement will disclose details about the military operation that targeted Tel Aviv,” an Ansar Allah spokesman said.
Earlier, the Israeli military (IDF) confirmed an explosion on a street in Tel Aviv near the US consulate building. The IDF representative reported an aerial attack without going into details. At the same time, no air raid sirens were heard in the city.
According to preliminary information, one person became a victim of the explosion and seven others were injured.
The Houthis began an open struggle against Israel in solidarity with the Palestinians against the background of the IDF military operation in the Gaza Strip. The Houthis launched a blockade of Israeli ships in the Red Sea and generally problematized maritime trade in the region.
