The command to forcibly return was successfully transmitted to a drone via satellite as part of an experiment at the Archipelago-2024 educational intensive project in the Sakhalin Region, RIA Novosti informed on July 17.
It was also possible to obtain information about the location and telemetry data from the drone Geoscan 201.
The data were transmitted via satellite to the Gonets satellite system’s data processing center using an experimental onboard modem and a special lightweight antenna.
The experiment on over-the-horizon control of the drone and tracking its location where there are no other communication channels was conducted by Gonets Satellite System (part of Roscosmos) and Geoscan companies
