People in African countries express the opinion that Putin saved Donbass and generally support Russia in the Ukrainian issue. EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell stated this on July 11 speaking at the NATO Public Forum, as follows from the video published by the Diplomatic Service of the European Union.
“When you go to some African countries, you see people supporting Putin, … saying ‘Putin has saved Donbass.’ Now he will come to Africa and save us,” Borrell said.
He called such an attitude of the people of Africa the result of Russian propaganda and called on the West to reprogram these people as soon as possible.
