Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov did not comment on the alleged participation of Indian nationals in the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces in the zone of Russia’s special military operation on July 9 while responding to journalists at a briefing.

“We are not commenting on this topic in any way,” the spokesman said when asked whether its citizens who are involved in fighting in Ukraine will be dismissed with subsequent return to India.

The day before, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Moscow for Russian-Indian talks. Russian President Vladimir Putin received him at his residence in Novo-Ogaryovo, after which the two leaders had informal talks.

On July 8, Modi wrote on his social media page X that the talks in Moscow would strengthen the friendship between India and Russia.
