The Israeli army agreed on plans for an offensive in Lebanon, the IDF Press Service informed on June 18.
It is noted that Commander of the Northern Military District Ori Gordin and Head of Operations of the General Staff Oded Basyuk agreed on the plans on Tuesday. They also assessed the current situation.
“As part of the assessment of the situation, the plans for the offensive in Lebanon were approved and endorsed, and decisions were made to continue raising the combat readiness of troops on the ground,” the report reads.
Earlier, the IDF Press Service reported that the Israeli army intends to carry out an offensive on the northern front. The need for this is explained by the incessant shelling of Lebanese fighters.
