Analyst: Russia may send P-700 Granit missiles to US adversaries

07.06.2024, Beijing.

The transfer of supersonic P-700 Granit missiles to countries opposing the United States and NATO is possible after Russian President Vladimir Putin’s warning, military expert Drago Bosnic wrote in his article for InfoBRICS on June 7.

“Even older Soviet-era missiles such as the massive P-700 “Granit” could effectively nullify Western naval dominance in any region of the world,” Bosnic wrote.

He argues that Russia has the ability to supply these powerful anti-ship missiles to countries in conflict with the USA and NATO, which could have serious implications for Western nations in light of Putin’s recent warnings.

In the context of the response to the delivery of long-range weapons to Ukraine, Putin on the eve stated Russia’s right to an asymmetric response, including the possibility of arming regions of the world where sensitive targets of the states that sent the missiles to Ukraine would be struck.

In Putin’s opinion, the transfer of long-range precision weapons to Kiev could lead to serious problems, the final destruction of international relations and undermining global security.
