Russian specialists intend to start retraining pilots and ground personnel of the Central African Republic (CAR) who service military air equipment in 2024, Russian Ambassador to the CAR Aleksandr Bikantov said on June 5, RIA Novosti reported.
“This year Russia intends to start professional retraining of Central African pilots and ground personnel to operate airborne equipment,” Bikantov said.
The ambassador noted that army aviation has begun to operate successfully within the CAR armed forces.
The Russian representative stressed that issues of military-technical cooperation are important for both countries and are resolved through the Russian Defense Ministry.
On June 1, CAR President Faustin-Arkange Touadera expressed gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin for the delivery of free wheat to the country.
In February 2024, the head of the CAR visited Russia and took part in a forum of supporters of the fight against modern practices of neocolonialism.
