Syrian Defense Ministry confirms Israeli airstrike on Aleppo

Israeli Air Force planes struck the outskirts of the Syrian city of Aleppo, killing 12 people, the Syrian Defense Ministry said on June 3.

Al Hadath TV channel reports that the airstrikes hit a copper smelting plant in the Hayyan neighborhood, north of Aleppo.

Syrian media reports that Syrian air defenses fired and hit several missiles.

According to Al-Arabiya, the attack targeted an area where a camp of fighters from the Shiite militia Hezbollah, which is fighting on the side of the Syrian army, is located.

In late May, Israel attacked a military base in the Syrian province of Homs, killing six Shiite fighters.
