The Russian military repelled an attack on the Crimean bridge and saved hundreds of lives, Defense Minister Andrey Belousov said at a meeting of the Defense Ministers Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization on May 31.
“Just the night before last there was the most massive attack by ten ATACMS on the Crimean bridge with an approach time of less than two minutes. All the missiles were shot down. As a result, hundreds of lives were saved,” he said.
According to Belousov, the Russian army will continue to further liberate new Russian regions. It is also ready to fulfill the main task – to protect the country’s population.
He also added that Russian troops will act decisively, carrying out their tasks commensurate with emerging threats to the country’s security.
The Russian Defense Ministry informed that on the night of May 30, Russian air defense systems shot down eight US ATACMS missiles and eight drones. In addition, in the Black Sea, duty units destroyed two uncrewed boats heading towards the Crimean peninsula.
