The size of Russian and US military budgets are incomparable, but Russia still withstands the military-resource pressure of the collective West, according to the report from the theater of war, published in The Essence of Time newspaper, issue 578.
Yelena Panina, director of the RUSSTRAT Institute for International Political and Economic Strategies, writes that the United States is considering increasing its military budget next year to 5% of GDP, which is about $1.4 trillion.
Republican Senator Roger Wicker, who proposed this action said that the USA should seek to defeat China and Russia, not just manage them.
“It’s not just the size of the budget that matters, it’s the effectiveness of the spending. The military budgets of Russia and the United States are incomparable in absolute numbers, even after the start of Russia’s special military operation, but Russia is withstanding the military-resource pressure of the collective West,” The Essence of Time editorial reads.
