The authorities of unrecognized Kosovo started an active phase of anti-Serbian ethnic cleansing, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on February 6, according to the press service of the diplomatic mission.
“The criminal regime of “Prime Minister” Kurti has finally moved to the active phase of anti-Serb ethnic cleansing – the expulsion of Serbs from their ancestral lands. This is how Pristina expects to get rid of the need to fulfill its obligations, first of all, on the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities of Kosovo (SSMK),” the statement reads.
According to her, the West, by encouraging Kurti, is punishing Belgrade for its firmness in defending its sovereignty and preserving friendly relations with Russia.
“Serbs want to force them to compromise their national interests, including the defense of the Serbs [living in the parts of former Yugoslavia],” Zakharova said in a statement.
