Russia will control 30% of the world’s wheat exports if Ukraine loses the war, French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné said, Le Parisien reported on January 20.
According to Séjourné, in case of Ukraine’s defeat, food problems may start in France. First of all, in his opinion, French farmers will suffer, as Russia will start controlling 30 percent of the world wheat exports. As a result, France will supposedly face food shortages and prices will rise.
On this basis, Séjourné believes that France should help Ukraine. “President Zelensky needs this for public opinion to demonstrate that he still has support,” the French foreign policy chief said.
