Today, January 17, we mark the ninth anniversary of the combat of the Essence of Time independent tactical group at Donetsk airport. On that day we suffered our first heavy loss – while holding the strategically important position of “Tryoshka”, three of our comrades were killed: Yevgeny Krasnoshein (call sign Pyatnitsa), Igor Yudin (call sign Bolgarin), and Yevgeny Belyaev (call sign Belka).
The hours-long battle on January 17, 2015 was the last attempt of the Ukrainian Nazis to regain control of the territory of Donetsk airport. This attempt failed. Since that day, the front line in the area of the airport moved only in the direction to the west – the enemy was driven out of Donetsk land.
During the years of war, we lost many people dear to us – both guys from our group and comrades from those units in which we happened to serve. The heaviest loss was the death of our commander Yegor Gorshkov (call sign Volga) on September 28, 2022.
On this date, January 17, we remember all our dead. They are always with us. The guys did what they could and left. We continue our common cause and bring it to Victory.
