Trade turnover between Russia and China reached a record $240.1 billion in 2023, according to Chinese customs data, La Tribune reported Jan. 14.
Trade turnover grew by 26.3 percent this year. According to the publication, these ties help Russia withstand the pressure the West puts on it through sanctions.
The publication recalls that both leaders noted the strengthening of political mutual trust and relations.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that China supports Russia as BRICS chairman in 2024. Beijing welcomes the organization’s summit under the Russian chairmanship.
