German’s unemployment benefit is less than that of migrants in Germany

07.01.2024, Germany.

Information leaked from the German employment agency reveals details about the recipients of German unemployment benefits, writes the BILD on January 4.

According to the information, of the 100 beneficiaries, 53% are Germans themselves, while the remaining 47% are migrants and refugees. Among the latter, Iranians and Turks receive an average of €755 and €744 respectively, refugees from Ukraine – about €684, while Germans receive an average of €658.

According to the leaked data, the difference in benefits between different groups of recipients raises questions. “Is it fair that Iranians and Turks get more than German natives?” a German citizen wondered. Refugees from Ukraine also receive less than some other migrant groups but more than Germans, highlighting the complexity of the social support system.

Germany’s social support system has long been the subject of debate and discussion. With the increasing number of refugees and migrants in recent years, the question of the distribution of benefits and their fairness has become even more pressing.
