The Soviet system, in which everything had to be produced in the Soviet Union, was a result of the iron curtain and the obstacles put in our country’s way, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on December 29 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.
Kurginyan reminded that the Soviet Union’s intention to produce everything domestically seemed to be excessive. After the USSR collapsed, Russia believed it would be treated as any other European country based on common universal approaches, so Russia would be able to buy anything it needs.
“So what have we got now? Unprecedented sanctions. Did they appear accidentally? Is a war against Ukraine just so outrageous?” Kurginyan wondered.
The political scientist reminded that quite a number of conflicts took place in the world that were similar to the conflict in Ukraine.
“Did any sanctions take place when India had a war with Pakistan? Meanwhile, the situation was quite similar in that it was a united British India, which was divided in order to initiate conflicts, Britain is good at this, and a long-term tension appeared. Did anyone react to it in any way? Did anyone react to the Iran-Iraq conflict? No!” he stressed.
According to Kurginyan, the difference between the mentioned conflicts and the Ukrainian one is that “endlessly hated Russia” is “in the focus of this conflict.”
