Kurginyan: It’s not the “Kremlin towers” that will control criminal unrest in Russia

05.01.2024, Aleksandrovskoye.

A criminal unrest would be orchestrated from outside Russia, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on December 27 in his author’s broadcast Destiny.

Speaking about the role of the underworld in politics, the analyst pointed out a new “cultural phenomenon,” the super popular series The Boy’s Word, and he noted that these kinds of phenomena have the ability to penetrate from the cultural aspect into the political one and to affect the reality. Kurginyan reminded about 1990s with total criminalization of not only economy but also culture, and the collapse of the USSR that followed. Who did orchestrate that process?

The analyst stressed that “there is always someone who organizes organized crime.” In the late Soviet period, a drug-related component added to this crime, which had become international. The top level is criminal cartels closely tied with security services. It is a pyramid with a sub-criminal community at its bottom, its next level is “small-time criminals” followed by sectorial crime, and a criminal consortium is at its top.

One may depict humiliated boys (very often humiliated indeed) or some cops (sometimes having ugly qualities, but sometimes, I know, absolutely heroic, and the latter are always in the majority),” Kurginyan said. But we must remember that the top of the criminal pyramid is outside Russia.

A serious conversation about the top levels of the mentioned pyramid can have serious consequences. “’Talking about this will be bad for your nerves,’ because these [top] levels of the pyramid do not want to be discussed too much,” Kurginyan says.

He reminded about a brilliantly made and precisely played film The Godfather by Francis Ford Coppola; “mafia loved it for a long time” until Coppola began to discuss the mafia’s role in the murder of Pope John Paul I. In doing so, he could not avoid disturbing “structures that are above mafia and that govern mafia,” the analyst says, adding that “he [Coppola] received such a blow on his head that he had to stop talking about it.” Stanley Kubrick was in favor until he disturbed the same criminal upper circles in his film Eyes Wide Shut. “He started discussing this, and he was killed. And not only him.”

Turning back to the reality of Russia today, Kurginyan noted that “all these criminal trends will be governed not by sometimes ambiguous part of our security services elite, but by someone else. And all this is coming soon,” Sergey Kurginyan warns.

This storm is upcoming. And I feel that certain strata of our intelligentsia are ready again to welcome a flow of any dark and bloody matter as long as this flow can ruin this [state] that this part of our intelligentsia hates. And if anyone thinks that it will be governed by our elite, or as they say ‘the towers of the Kremlin,’ I saw how they governed it during the Bolotnaya Square protests,” the analyst concluded.

The series The Boy’s Word promotes the criminal “AUE” (organization banned in Russia) rules; this is an international criminal movement. Its members were responsible for mass disorders, and they largely involve teenagers and young people in their activities. This international criminal movement appeared in 2011 in the wake of the Bolotnyaya Square “revolution.”
