Russia’s Kh-32 cruise missile is invulnerable to Patriot SAMs, correspondent Guido Schmidtke told German TV channel Die Welt on January 4.
“Because of its invulnerability and high speed, no missile has yet been shot down by Ukrainian air defense systems, which include a modern Patriot SAM system,” he said.
Current Western air defense systems cannot intercept the latest Russian missiles such as the Kh-32. This cruise missile has a range of 5,400 kilometers, flies at supersonic speed, is resistant to electronic warfare, it is effectively guided and hits targets, he explained.
On January 2, Ukrainian President Zelensky said that the previous day Russia had launched the most massive combined strike with drones and missiles. According to his assurances, the US Patriot SAM system shot down all ten hypersonic Kinzhal (Kh-32) missiles launched by Russia.
